Sebastien Darchen and Cathryn Chatburn’s team cited for outstanding contributions to student learning in UQ Awards

Last night, UQ’s Teaching Community gathered to celebrate teaching excellence at the annual UQ Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

We are delighted to announce that UQ|UP’s Sebastien Darchen and Cathryn Chatburn were amongst a team – the Urban Design Challenge team – recognised with a Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.

The team (lead by Australian Centre for Water and Environmental Biotechnology) received a citation for developing a unique, creative, scenario-driven, game-based learning experience where engineering, architecture, water, and planning student teams collaboratively solve complex real-world sustainable urban design problems. The Urban Design Challenge is a wonderful example of interdisciplinary projects having a meaningful impact on our students learning.

Congratulations also to our colleagues Diana Navarro in SEES and Dr Paola Leardini and Mojtaba Moravej at the School of Architecture. For further information on all the award winners please click here.
