Our Wakka Wakka research partners invited SEES researchers David Pullar, Sonia Roitman and Laurel Johnson to attend their cultural camp at Maidenwell and the Bunya Mountains on the weekend of 28/29 July. The cultural camps see traditional owners return to their country to share cultural knowledge and stories with each other. This camp had over 50 Wakka Wakka people in attendance. The Bunya Mountains is a very special place for Wakka Wakka and other Aboriginal Nations for gathering and ceremony. The research is part of an ARC linkage grant with Wakka Wakka Aboriginal Traditional Owners for the Living Culture project.
