UQ|UP’s Sonia Roitman was invited to contribute an opinion piece on the role of urban planning to achieve the SDGs.

The article argues that urban planning has an strategic role to play to advance in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, and Goal 11 (To achieve safe, inclusive, sustainable and resilient cities and human settlements). The New Urban Agenda agreed by all the United Nations members provide some guidelines on how to do this.
