We have completed the 2024 PLAN3200/7200 course on Exploring Development Complexities in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This year 29 students from UQ (from urban planning, environmental management, geography and social science, both undergraduate and postgraduate students) and 18 UGM students (from urban planning, undergraduate degree) joined the course.
Students work with communities in urban and rural settings understanding their challenges. They also visit different sites that are considered good practices.
The course has been conducted since 2015. This is a joint effort with different partners: Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Arkom Indonesia, Kalijawi Organisation, Lingkar Organisation and several local governments. The course is co-coordinated by Sonia Roitman and Ron Johnstone.
As part of this immersion course, we visited Borobudur temple, the most important buddhist temple in Indonesia (from around 800 DC).
Terima kasih banyak semua!
