UQ|UP and UQ Arch staff participate in NTEU rally

On Wednesday, the UQ branch of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) held a very successful strike action to protest against UQ’s excessive delays in the new round of Enterprise Agreement barganing.

The NTEU demands secure jobs, safe workloads, and real payrises for UQ employees.

Hundreds of union members and supporters, including several UQ|UP and UQ Arch members, gathered in the morning for a picket at the UQ sign on Sir Fred Schonell Drive, then a rally on the Great Court, and finally a march to the UQ Chancellery. The local member of Parliament Elizabeth Watson-Brown and Senator Mehreen Faruqi were in attendance.
