UQ|UP student Abena Dankwa wins People’s Choice award at SEES HDR Research Showcase

Over the last two weeks the SEES HDR Showcase has been on in the Steele Building Planning studio and online. This annual event is an opportunity for SEES students to display their research in a poster format and have an open conversation with those interested. It highlights the diverse range of different projects that are undertaken within SEES.

This year, UQ|UP’s Abena Dankwa won People’s Choice award [tied with Guilherme da Silva].

Abena’s poster and video (view here) was entitled: ‘Exploring transport disadvantage with regards to the ageing population of rural and regional Queensland‘. She was supervised by Dr Kelly Bertolaccini.

The posters and videos were judged by four members of SEES staff from different backgrounds, and everyone else in the school could vote for the popular choice.

Congratulations to Abena and all the students (and supervisors) for putting together a poster and a video to present their work, and for surviving and managing to achieve some great research during the strange circumstances we have found ourselves in during 2020.
