Sonia Roitman lecturing in Argentina on role of urban planning in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG11)

UQ|UP’s Sonia Roitman delivered a guest lecture to students of final year of Architecture at the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. The lecture provided an overview of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and in particular the ‘Urban Goal’ (SDG11: To achieve inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements’). Students discussed the role of architects and urban planners in the achievement of more sustainable cities.

National University of Cuyo is the largest public university in Cuyo Region (Argentina) with 45,000 students. It was founded in 1939 and offers 136 degrees. The Bachelor in Architecture is a 5-year degree offered by the School of Engineering with a focus on urban sustainability.
