The Leadership Council on Cultural Diversity organized a panel discussion and networking event on Cultural Diversity and Innovation.
Respect for cultural diversity and innovation is crucial for Australian planners, who are serving an increasingly international population base. Moreover, it has been proven that diverse workforces lead to better decision-making in business and government. Also, cultural diversity in organisational leadership is the right thing to do.
The evening featured a panel including:
- Professor Peter Høj, Vice-Chancellor of The University of Queensland
- Dr Martin Parkinson AC PSM, Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet
- Ms Raynuha Sinnathamby, Managing Director of Springfield Land Corporation.
Race Discrimination Commissioner Dr Tim Soutphommasane opened proceedings, and the event was emceed by ABC News presenter Ms Karina Carvalho.
Launched in March and chaired by Dr Soutphommasane, the Leadership Council brings together senior Australian leaders to advocate for cultural diversity in leadership.
